Good morning from Junior and Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's that are reading this. There was no wifi in the park so I am having to catch up as I can. We are getting ready for Church now but I have a little time. I took lots of pictures so if you get bored just skip them. We drove into the park early and got a camp at Madison Camp ground. Most of the campgrounds haven't opened yet. Cmor was glad to know where he would be parked for the night. As we headed for Old Faithful Cmor had to stop for a Bison. I was very excited. We walked around some of the geyser fields and enjoyed the beautiful colors made by minerals and bacteria. Sometimes when I looked down I felt like I was looking out of an airplane at little rivers and islands. Old Faithful was erupting as we walked up to it. We stayed long enough to see it erupt again. A lady used sign motions to ask if she could hold me. Being such a friendly monkey I said yes. Oh my goodness, I was mobbed. So many other tourist wanted pictures even with my people in them. Lots of laughing and people changing places. Old Faithful Inn was beautiful. I went up as many stairs as I could trying to look in rooms and be nosy. I was stopped by a gate going to the Crows Nest. Before the earthquake in 1959 an orchestra would play there and people could stand on all the different floors and look down at people dancing. Some of the timbers got twisted and might not have supported the weight. I guess I could have climbed up there but I usually follow the rules. I am amazwd that after so many years most of the timbers are still good.
As we drove along thr rivers I looked atthe huge rocks. I thought about my people digging big holes, putting in special soil, and planting trees that didn't always grow. Then I saw trees growing out of solid rock with barely any soil. God is truly a Master Gardener. As we drove and toured Gibbon Canyon and the falls, I really appreciated the stone masons and the block walls they built, one block at a time, while hanging off a cliff. We walked around the paintpots and I wanted to walk alone but my man held onto me because he was worried about the heat. We saw more bison with their little orange babies. Elk along thr road as we exited the park at Gardiner for groceries. And after more hiking we headed home to bed. End od Day one in Yellowstone.
