Hi from Junior. I had great adventures today. I started my day high on the mountain with lots of snow. The sky was pretty dark and it kept lightly raining. I couldn't decide if I wanted it to snow or not. I went to the education center and learned a lot about this volcano we have been in. We went to several waterfalls and using my binoculars I saw an Osprey nest perched on top of a rock. You have to look very carefully to see the large nest and a bit of white where the mother bird was sitting on her babies. I shared my binoculars with different people. One cute young couple from Culver City asked if I had been in Jackson Hole a few days ago. She remembered me from when I was having lunch in the park. I gave them my address so they can follow my adventures. We went to artist point and saw the falls from a different angle. A funny thing happened with my people. She said " come over here and see these great hoodoos. He rushed over and was disappointed. He thought she said Hooters. Why did he think owls would be out during the day? We saw more geysers and did some climbing. I could look way down and see Cmor in the parking lot. I had an incredible experience then. We saw a lot of cars and people along side the road. Cmor stopped and being a curious monkey, I asked a man what was happening. He sais a grizzly was in the bushes trying to get across thr river to get to a fresh kill but was afraid of all the people. I did not see him.
Then I heard a howling and a wolf chased the grizzly down into the water. I did not have time to get a picture of the wolf but I got a lot of the bear. I wish I has a close up lens but when I get home I will crop my pictures and maybe it will show up more. Hee kept getting in and out of the water. Poor bear. We went next to Fishing Bridge. I really liked the signs. So many fisherman would line up shoulder to shoulder and get their lines tangled and even snag motorist. Finally the rangers realized they were messing up the spawning grounds and stopped allowing fisshing in that area. There was ice there in Yellowstone Lake. As we began to climb the over sylvan Pass we saw a cannon on the hill. Cmor didn't see it in time to stop. It is in an avalanche zone. The pass is usuallu closed from early November until May. This year it opened on May 6th. They use the cannon to set off avalanches when necessary. The colors in the frozen lakes were beautiful shades of blue. I played for awhile but it was cold. We were nervous about the dark clouds and light rain on top so Cmor carefully hurried through the mountains and found us a camp and now we are cozy in Cody. Bye until tomorrow.
