day 8 wyoming Idaho montana Where are we

Good morning. First a somewhat apology. All the pictures get loaded at once so I don't know why they are sometimes different sizes. Also forgot to tell you, this trip has been so much fun that we were actually in Bliss.

Yesterday I was one little confused monkey. Leaving Idaho in the morning, we intended to go to The Grand Tetons. Silly Californian Monkey. We took the long way into Jackson Hole Wyoming (hwy 26) because Donna really likes the Swan Valley. It was really beautiful. Into Jackson Hole and lunch in the little square park. Took lots of pictures for the school kids and I climbed around on the Elk antler arches in each corner of the park. Then after walking around town awhile and seeing lots of art, we went to the park service visitors center. Kathy, a lively ranger gave us frustrating news. Lots of the Teton park was closed until the 15th. Plus the worse part. We could not drive thru to Yellowstone. The South entrance has not opened yet.  So back on thr road to Idaho. This time we decided to go over the Teton Pass (8431 feet elev.). Cmor had no problem and we all enjiyed the contrast of dark greens and white snow. Back in Idaho. Then up 33 and 32 and we ended up spending the night here in West Yellowstone Montana. If we count Idaho twice we were in four states yesterday. We have been in Idaho more than Russell has. Quick breakfast and we are off to the park. Some of the roads there are opening today. Only two campgrounds open. If there is no room in the Inn who knows where this poor monkey will be tonight. Oh well, remember, It is not the destination, it is the journey, Havea nice day everyone from Junior.

PS. learned something interesting at the Visitor center. Bull Elk during the rutting season will display dominance bu bugling, wallowing, urinating on themselves, rubbing and thrashing on vegetation and clashing antlers with rival males. Doesn't that describe teen aged human males?
