Good evening from Jr. A nice outdoor day for all of us. We went to the Boise Zoo. Didn't quite compare with the Omaha Zoo John and Jackie took us to but it was nice.I saw lots of different monkeys and was glad I am civilized and not in a cage. I learned that Africa is the second largest continent and has over 1,000 languages. Also learned there are 17 different kinds of penguins (18 if you count Don and Donna's hiking group). I was minding my own business when a huge Sloth bear came up to the window and tried to eat me. Huge teeth and I'm sure he had bad breath! His buddy in the next cage was just sitting there enjoying the sun. They can weigh up to 320 pounds. I would not have even been a snack. Not a good picture but I did see a Komodo Dragon and sat on a full size replica. Donna found a cozy nest and we went down a giraffe slide. Left the zoo and walked around the park. Running into the same problem as the 2013 trip. Some things are only open on weekends at this time if the year. Saw the pioneer village from the outside. I was going over the fence but my people wouldn't have been able to join me. Wonderful Large Statue of my favorite president. Done by Guizon Borglum in 1912. Same artist that did Mt. Rushmore. After walking around the rose garden, we left for the stadium. No tours but we did go into the Hall of fame. It reminded Don and Donna of when they saw the picture of Col. Honsowetz in the Idaho college Hall of fame. We got to go out and see the blue turf. Discovered Boise University has the licensing rights for all colored turf. Someone was pretty smart. Walked around camp for awhile, Donna read for awhile and after they had a crab salad and I had a banana, we played Rummycubes and are ready for our cozy beds. Hugs and sweet dreams from Jr.
