What a different state North Dakota is. I am amazed it has not blown away. We went to the Roosevelt National Monument. It reminds me of the Grand Canyon here. I didn't realize Theodore Roosevelt had a ranch here. He lived in The Maltese Cabin while he tried to raise cattle, and heal from the loss of his Mother qaqqsAAAaáaqwwwAAAAQASQAAqsqSšpand his wife, both on the same day. During the winter most of his cattle died of starvation because of over grazing. This caused him to realize how important our handling of our natural resources was. I went to Dickensen to take pictures of dinosaurs for the kids. Found a wonderful road but unfortunately it was getting late and we could not tale it. The enchanted highway, It had a huge sculpture next to the road, then there were many more along it's 32 miles. I was really sorry we couldn't follow that road. Far away in the distance (which is all there is), Cmor saw something on the hill. When we got close we saw it was a cow. When we got close, in New Salem, we realized it was Salem Sue, the worlds biggest Holstein Cow. Cmor got as close as he could and then I had to climb the rest of the way. My friend Donna went with me. She was afraid she was going to blow away. she said she had never in her very long life felt wind like that. I had to jam myself in Sue's hoof for a picture. On the way down Donna really was afraid she would blow down the hill. Gas here is $1.99 a gallon for Cmor. My people said they wouldn't care if it was 99cents, they wouldn't live here. well, that is enough of my first day in North Dakota. If we have not blown away, I will write tomorrow.
