We did It!!!

We left Illinois, Slid in and out of Indiana, stopping for just a while on the shore od Lake Michigan in Michigan City. Then on to Chicago. J and J wanted to meet us there. Unfortunately The World Cup and some soccer thing has Chicago pretty well booked up. Mobs of people everywhere. Hopefully we willsee the J's somewhere along the way. . I can't believe Cmor actually made it around downtown. Past Millenium Park and on to Grant Park and the Buckingham Fountain to officially begin Route 66!  imagine driving into a major city , hosting major events on a Friday afternoon. Cmor is truly a great driver. We hadplanned to try to tour Wrigley Field but there was a home game. So no bears to add to ourcollection. From the road we saw USCellularfield, SoldiersFoeld, Theaquarium and the Beautiful Museums. We even sawthe giant ferris wheel along the shore. We spent the night in Joliet and are ready today to really start Rt. 66. I gguess we are heading home now, but slowly. Hugs from the travelers
