So far behind.

I am a lazy monkey. I will see how much I can catch up. We started with Thursday'sbreakfastwith the J's at Seven, the restaurant at the Casino. Itwas hard saying goodbye to them. Nextstop was the visitorscenter at Rt 66 State Park. On to the Shrine of the Black Madonna. Very inspirational and I will tell anyone interested the whole story behind one man's faith and devotion to Mary. I spent a long time talking to a former Brother that used to livethere before he left the Brotherhood. All the grottosand walls were uilt with native stone that looked like coral.

Next stop caves along the road. These were the remains of silica mines. The passages were uncovered when the highway was cut through. They looked like they would be fun to explore. Seeing lots of old signs. Right now they are interesting but I wonder if the novelty will wear off. My man keeps seeing 57 Chevys everywhere on signs and paintings. Keeps mumbling about getting home to work on his cars. My lady is ignoring him. (not unusual). Wentto see the Meramac caves but they were not opening until the next day. They hadbeen flooded and they needed to be cleaned because of mold. Probably an OSHA type thing. Passed thru Bourbon and for some reason, thought of my good friend Russell.
Next, Cuba, the city of  murals. Cmor got a bath which made him happy. Found another world'sbiggestfor the list. This time such a big rocking chair, I couldn't even climb up on it. Cmornoticed that 66 is sometimes justas fast as the Hwy. Somebody mumbled that was missing the point.Went to see the Devils Elbow, a tight bend in the road with a large boulder in the middle. Loggers always had to break up logjams here, thus the name. Lots of bikers at the old tavern here. Had trouble finding a spot for the night but as usual we were blessed with a good nights sleep.

Friday, back to continue the road from the Elbow. Talked to some of the bikers. They were from Europe. Sure are a lot of bikes and travelers from all over the world. Part of the fun on this trip has been meeting and talking with newpeople. I sure have had my picture taken a lot. Followed a narrowoff shoot of 66 to the town of Arlington. Totally cut off by the fwy and now only 5 families live there. Met a lady gardening and she told us some stories. Continued on to Hookers Cut, once the deepestcut road. 66 is four lanes wide here and a little turtle was trying to cross the road, After a brief conversation, I helped him across and wewere off again. Then another turtle. Very hot and not fun hopping in and out, but I did notwant to imagine a greasy turtlespot in themiddle of the road. Did a little circling around, completely by choice. We were NOT lost. Found our way to the world'sLargest gift store and did not buy a thing, although I did hang outwith some relatives for awhile. Then great fun. Found out we were ear Limo Land. Wewalked in and requested a tour and luckily, met Jodie, the owners wife. She agreed to show us around. Sometimes all you haveto do is ask. She showed us how theycut the cars and stretch them. Luckily Cmor stayed outside, because they were cutting Sprinters. Our last tour of the day was Fantastic Caverns. We rode in a jeep underground thru the caverns. They werediscovered by a farmer when his dog disappeared into a hole and he heard him barking. It was first a tually explored by women with just candle lit lanters in I think 1876 or something like that. They signed their names on the wall. Whatabeautiful lazy tour. Our guidewas really funny and kept using me to point things out, She would move my arms and say things like, "Isn'tthat right Junior?"
We ended up at a KOA and couldn'tgetABC on our TV. Wewere given permission to use the rec room after hours as long as we promised to lock up after the Warrior Game. There was a VW show going on in camp and there were some great old trailers with them. None as  nice as Cmor but close. Okay, that takes me thru Friday and I am finished for now. Hugs from Jr.
