Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's from Junior. Here I go catching up again. Passed by the Library, a local bar. Loved the book titles. Very clever. I really enjoyed Old Town but all the old buildings have been converted into shops and restaurants. I guess the plus sode is at least the buildings are being saved. The old church is now in great shape and well taken care of. There was an old tree behind the Church that a parishioner carbed Our Lady into. The tree trunk was moved into the front of the Church so everyone can see it. He must have had small. hands to fit around the statue with tools. Don had a little run in with an arrow., but he is fine now. Saw more great old ruins. I don't know how they last so long. Crossed the continental divide, AGAIN. We stopped at The Hotel El Ranco Many movie stars used to stay here. Walls and walls of signed pictures. Not all were labeled and this poor monkey is to young to recognize them. The rooms are all named for different stars. Outside the old still working train depot in the next town is a statue honoring the Navajo Code Talkers. I like to read the stories about them in WW 2. Someone sure was clever to think of them. All of a sudden the landscape is changing. We are finally seeing hills and beautiful rock cliffs. We stopped at The Wigwam Motel. They still rent the wigwams to stay in. Lots of old cars parked around as if the wigwams were being rented. Ended the day in Winslow, standin on the corner with the Eagles song. It is amazing how one song can make a town famous. I guess all of us still will pay our quarter to see the bearded lady. We have paid lots of quarters and seen lots of ladies. Times have changed but we all are curious and have to travel and look at "stuff". Enough for now. I have to get ready for church. Hmmm, is it poor taste to pray for the Warriors? Have a greT day, all you Dads
from Junior.
