terrible day

Hello everyone. This is from Donna. If there is anyone reading this that cannot keep a secret, stop reading now and wait until tomorrows blog from Junior. I did a terrible thing. John and Jackie came to pick us up and when we got to the stadium, John asked where Junior was. I had forgotten him. John was so sweet. He offered to go back across the Mississippi River to get him. I decided he could use a day of rest. So no one can tell him about today. All day I kept seeing photo opts. I missed our little guy. I will get him an extra banana tomorrow.

So I will try to fill in for him. First picture is Don wearing his new shirt. Talking about shirts, the wierdest thing happened on the second 66 day. Those of you who know me, know I don't really like to shop. On our second day as 66ers, I was in another museum and there hanging in the little gift shop as I passed by was a shirt with this trips slogan. Not all who wander route 66 are lost. Of course I bought it. It was fate.

We started out our day at the Busch stadium for a tour. Everyone was nice and did't mention our Giants losing last weekend. John is a great driver and got us around the city without TOO many wrong turns. We went to the Grant Farm and again I saw lots of things Jr would have loved. Saw the Clydesdales and took a tram around through the animal park. It is all run by Anheiser and there were free samples of their new ale. Okay, to my kids, sit down. I actually tried it. It was apple something or other ale. First sip, not too bad, second sip started to taste like beer so I split my glass with Don and the J's. We saw the Ulysses Grant Cabin and decided to skip the tour of his home. Back across the river to our home and a very rested little monkey. I'm going to bed now feeling extremely guilty. Tomorrow I will find something extra fun for Junior. Hugs to all our fans at home and thanks for the emails we have received. We love to hear from home
