saturday

Hi from Junior. I think the heat is getting to me. I don't think I pushed the publish button until a few minutes ago. Yesterday, we left camp and went again to The Meteor crater. They have added a lot to the displays since we were here in 1992. Of course the crater looks the same. Took a close up of the bottom center where they drilled shafts looking for the meteor. I tried to blow it up as well as I could. In the front right corner is a 6 ft. tall astronaut and a flag. Impossible to see with out telescope. We watched a movie and they explained that the whole od Downtown San Francisco could fit in the crater. I took a picture of the movie and it turned out pretty well. Then they told how many football fields could fit and how many million fans could watch the games while sitting around the edges. I took a picture of that part of the movie too. Lots of cows in the open range around the meteor. Astronauts actually trained in the crater because it is so similar to the moons surface.
Our next stop was another visit to Walnut Canyon and a steep climb down into the canyon to see the cliff dwellings. Across the canyon, the homes looked like apartments. The last Canyon we visited was Grand! Rode shuttles around which was wonderful.
I am a little upset with a couple of you. Russell for givi g us the magic green pan that makes cooking and clean up so easy, and Linda for suggesting pre cooked bacon. That also makes cooking a big breakfast too easy.

An odd fact I noticed. Since the Disney film about cars came ot, Most of the cars I see along the Route have eyes.  I haven't down loaded or uploaded or whatever, the pics from today, so you will just have to be pTient with me. Today itwas119* and tonight at 8:49 it was 111*.I feel like the Witch in the Wizard of Oz, "I'm melting". Sweaty hugs from Junior
