Boy, I am one unhappy sock monkey!!! I was so humiliated today. Don't these people know who I am? I am Junior, the world traveling sock monkey, Internationally known. Photographed by people from all countries and face booked around the world! Wait, let me take a deep, banana flavored breath and I will try to calm down.
Yesterday started well. A lovely nights sleep in the forest followed by another ferry ride from Kingston to Edmonds. Then South to Ballard and the Chittenden Locks and gardens. Donna really likes to watch the locks work. Also more fish ladders. Don kept watching the huge Salmon leaping and he was mumbling something about garlic and butter sauce.
Next we phoned Dennis Flynn, the father of one of our customers. He met us at his marina, The Shilshole Marina on Lake Union. We left Cmor in the parking lot because he said he had enough boat riding on the ferries. Dennis took us in his car and gave us a tour of the city, tourists don't always see. He even took Donna to see something on her bucket list. The Troll! He is holding a full sized Volkswagen. Then dennis took us out in his smaller boat, because it would have taken too long to get his sailboat ready.
He took us all around Lake Union, and I got to see the Needle from the water and a lot of house boats. Dennis told us it was cheaper to live on them than to rent apts. Sounds like San Francisco,
He returned us to Cmor and we spent the night at the Marina.
We started today looking at the house that inspired the Up Movie. It was supposed to be torn down, but so many people complained and raised money for it and it will be barged to Orcas Island, repaired and a new family will live in it. Nice story. Then we found our house for tonight and took buses to Pikes Place market. wow that place was crowded. My people had tempura prawns and I got to meet the fish throwers. Then another item checked off the bucket list. The gum wall. Don thought it was really gross. Donna liked it. I personally have never chewed gum, so I had no opinion except it was really colorful.
Onto the monorail to City Center. It actually traveled through the beautiful curves of the EMP museum. It was like traveling on the monorail thru the hotel in Disney world inFlorida. The Space Needle was as impressive as I expected, and then came the humiliation. I was very nice and bought my people tickets to the Chihuly Garden and Glass. As we entered, I, Junior the Sock Monkey, was denied entrance. In order to see the exhibit, I had to be inside Donna's backpack with only my head out. What did they think I was going to do, climb on those huge glass things? Well, maybe just a little climbing. Anyway, I couldn't even have my arms out until we were in the garden. I looked like a baby. I was so upset, I almost didn'tlet my people walk down the hill to the Sculpture Garden. Some of that Art didn' make much sense to me. Finally, it was up the hill to the monorail. Then on the light rail to SeaTac airport and transfer to the bus and home to Cmor. After I tell him my story, I am going to bed. It has been a stressful day for this poor monkey. Now I know how the common folk feel. Good night everyone.
