manzanita

I woke up my people and we walked around camp for a bit. Called Jane and Blackie was feeling fine so we had breakfast and got ready and after driving around camp to see the horse camps, we headed up the coast to Manzanita. What a cute little town. Now we all understand why Blackie and Jane love it so much. I went with Donna and Don and Blackie to Tillamook so Blackie could do some errands.  After we got back, Don and Blackie went to join Ken for Golf. Jane took me and Donna for a walk around town and down to the beach. We saw the cute little stores and the weathered cottages and beautiful gardens. Then we went back to Janes house. It is very warm and cozy. The perfect beach house. I got out the maps and decided where we would go next. we all went to a wonderful restaurant and had a great dinner. I even tried the deep fried oysters. They were good, but they won't replace bananas in my diet. Then while the guys drove, Donna and I walked with Jane to Kens House. After visiting for awhile, we walked back to Cmor and had a good nights sleep.

Today, wegot up and walked along the beach. There aren't too many pictures, because Donna was afraid to get sand in her camera and so she took her small one and can't transfer the pictures until we get home. It was fun talking to Jane for so long. We all got to catch up.
After a nice long walk, we gave hugs and many thanks to our friends and off we went. We had a real breakfast at a restaurant on hwy 26 after making many stops at ocean overlooks and going into the beach town of Cannon.  We went right thru Portland without stopping and into Washington again. We stopped at the Bonnie ille Dam and the White Salmon fish hatchery. We continued along the gorgeous Columbia gorge. Absolutely beautiful. Again we stopped often for the view. All of a sudden the gorge began to change began to change from heavy forested sides to flat dried hills. Almost like the high desert again. We are staying tonight in a peach orchard right down next to the waters edge. We are right below Maryhill and Stonehenge off Hwy. 97. Very, very hot here. I am going to take a shower and go to sleep so sweet dreams from Junior. Almost forgot, after seeing the movie Wild, with Joan in Rossmoor, Donna made Cmor drive over the Bridge of the Gods and back again.
